Elder Joseph W. Schindler -- The Czech Republic
I have created a blog to make it easier to share information about Joseph and his mission to the Czech Republic. I hope you enjoy Joseph's experiences and reflections as much as we do!
So, what does this rat have to do with the Czech Republic? Joseph wrote a couple weeks ago and said that he tells the people he meets in his mission about one of his favorite Christmas traditions -- the Christmas Rat! When our niece, Erika lived with us at Christmas time several years ago, she decided to wrap one of our toys (a plastic rat) which became the beautifully decorated "Christmas rat." The rat has bravely sat at the bottom of our Christmas tree ever since! Julie and I are amazed that this could have become such a memorable "tradition" for Joseph!
I'm not a bit surprised! It's one of my favorite Christmas memories, too. But mostly because it reminds me of the best Schindler/Wilson Christmases! I also think about divinity (best Christmas treat EVER!), Nativity pageants, and musical evenings with the best family in the world.
